Because that?s not the same gun that you?re seeing (California?s is different)and some people like to support local businesses.

If you?re in central california around Fresno zaks in madera has them $750 out the door with only a small waiting list. $750 including dros tax etc

because it has to be ca-compliant. if you are familiar with sig p226 or p229, sig added LCI and magazine disconnect to be compliant.

They actually didnt add the lci as that was already in the original. They just added the text on the optic plate and the mag disconnect lol

But it is CA, handgun has to have extra safety features that makes it unsafe to use, and manufacturer can charge a premium for it.

And oh, there is such a thing call FFL transfer fee, shipping, tax, etc, by the time u r done, it’s about same cost. So mind as well buy it from ur friendly LGS.

No, i'm not familiar, actually just getting in to handguns. And i don't know what LCI and all this weird things.

I never bought a handgun over the internet while in CA , Here i recently bought a Taurus TX22. It was listed on the internet $230 with 2 day free shipping. A local FFL was $20. Total $250 on the 3rd day after ordering. Same gun in the stores is well over 300.

I know about 10 day waiting period and Also, the last CA compliant feature was a stamped cartridge of some kind?. So Sig started stamping cartridges?

Yes, spent 20 years there, then 3 years ago escaped, but then i was not in handgun, I only had my G23 Gen 3 and when i bought it about 13 years ago i bought 500 rounds of ammo. When i left CA 10 years latter i took my gun with me and 485 rounds of same ammo.

Here having 60 acres of my land i started getting interest in handguns, built a small shooting range with spinning targets, dueling tree, and such, bought Taurus TX22, bought a 22LR conversion kit for my G23 and 1000s of 40S&W ammo.

When the M17/m18 came on the market i tried both of them. Frankly was not impressed at all, especially with M17. But i have so little experience to judge.

It is why i'm eyeing this forum to understand what is all this hype about M18 and probably i need to buy one even tho after 5-6K of 22lr and about 1000 of 40 cal i'm getting better with my glock.

I was going to order one from grabagun for 699, but after the taxes and shipping fee from that site and then on top of that FFL fees it wouldve been more than getting one here in store with dros fee.

Exactly, where I live in California, I have been quoted anywhere from $50 to $100 for FFL transfer fee. That basically eats away at any savings by buying online. The FFL dealers around here are sort of offended that you ordered the gun online and didn't buy directly from them. So, they want their cut. Unless you have a good friend that is FFL, that is what you are going to pay.
