help getting info on dad's old gun

my dad past away 4 years ago and left behind several rifles and this small handgun. Anyone own one of these or have any info on this type of handgun? also how much were they worth?

there was one in the drawer but it doesn't seem to fit. I didn't want to jam it in there. and yes it is very dirty and smelly

my mom just heard about the stupid gun buy back in fresno this weekend about 20 mins ago and wants to turn it in for the $100 gift card now

That's an Iver-Johnson TP-22 Pocket Pistol. It's a 15oz .22 caliber (or .25 for the TP25) double action semiauto with a 3 inch barrel, 7 shot finger tip extension magazine, black plastic gripos, fixed sights. They were made in blue or a matte blue finish between '85-'86 and reintroduced in 88-90.

Values are not very high. A NIB specimen might fetch $145 or so. In the rough condition pictured, maybe $80-$90 value. The stainless steel version was called the Silver Hawk but would only fetch about $25 more.

If you can find a magazine for it and clean it up, it might be more valuable as a fun plinker or last ditch backup piece.
