Ohhh, how do you tell? I just bought a 20 that came in a box that looks old as hell - i'd be curious to figure out how old it is.

My G17 is from 11/89. Doubt I'm in the running though.

It has to be a Gen 1 with the pebbled grip finish. Most of mine are 80's Gen II (checkered front and back straps, no finger swells).

We should have an oldest Glock by model as some models are newer than others.

            I have a Gen II Glock 21 from 1993

I'm not a Glock fan or owner, but there's supposedly a two digit Glock for sale at City Arms for those interested.

Before it went kaboom, my Gen 1 G17 had serial number AP190. Now its a frankenglock with a Gen 1 barrel and slide and a Gen 3 frame (but at least it was a free repair thanks to Glock's outstanding warranty service). Shame, though, because I liked the Gen 1 frames and hate the Gen 3 frames.

How did it kaboom? Just curious because I am starting to reload 9mm for my G34 and 19. I assume it was an old case because the spent casings from my 9mm Glocks look great. The G20 with factory barrel the cases are bulging big time.

I bought my G17 in 1990...guess I'm nowhere near in the running on this one. I did get a G20 when they first came out, though.

The contest should be the oldest Glock owned from new. That will change things quite a bit.

Man those tupperware boxes were the best. Nice and snug hold on the gun and cool place to hold ammo.

Not sure what exactly caused it, but the result was that it blew the slide stop off the gun, blew the magazine down and out (and blew the lips of the mag), and cracked the left side of the frame for 2" straight down the grip. No apparent damage to the slide or barrel.

We found shell casing. The case head was blown out for 1/4 of the way around the circumference. Was using quality commercial FMJ reloads. A lot of people have blamed the reloads, but personally, I think the gun fired without being fully into battery. And despite what people say, there are serious shooters who have seen a Glock fire while out of battery (i.e. Ken Hackathorn).

Glock repaired the damage for free by replacing the frame and internal components with a new Gen 3 frame.
