The grip sucked on my XD9 subcompact, asked a guy how much for a stipple job and he said $100.
    Fugg that.
Bought a cheap soldering iron, watched some youtube vids for pointers, and did it myself.

Say you got the stipple and do not like the grip, is there a way to reverse or its permeant?

you are modifying the frame by reshaping and removing material. it absolutely voids the warrantee.

Watch a few youtube videos... some sand the gun smooth.... makes it thinner...

                    Then stipple... melting plastic

To reverse it... not really a good choice... sand the raised bits smooth and leave the dimples....

The home stipple jobs look absolutely terrible most of the time, especially if you're mashing a random soldering iron into it.

The stipple specific tips have a *much* nicer outcome, and theyre cheap. It's worth the $15.

Much of the problems with adhesive can be avoided by proper prep cleaning of the frame and not leaving it in high temp places like a car in summer. I’ve never had talon grips peel up like that. Sure they probably have some variation in quality of adhesive time to time but I haven’t run into it yet on the grip tape version. Hell, I have skateboards with 20-30 year old grip tape in perfect condition that’s worn bald in spots from extreme use but zero shift or peeling. I used to work in a skate shop and have done hundreds of boards. The application is key. No air bubbles or wrinkles or you’re going to have issues.

Another member sent me some pics earlier today of frames they had stippled by 1036customs. Their work looks amazing and packages range from $175-$210.

I?m going to send off one or both of my Gen 3 G17 or G19. I can?t stand the finger grooves. As for the warranty, consider it gone once you modify the frame or slide. Link below.

One other thing. Some stippling is great for competition but is too rough for CCW as the stippling will eat your clothing.
