Colt python 3? owners

Ive been thinking of picking one of these up because i really like the look/proportions on it.
Also i read that the 3? is slightly more rare than other models. I know these wont appreciate like the old pythons but man they look nice.
Wanted to get your thoughts and experiences on this gun before i start dros.

I look at 4 and 3 inch python, I end up with 4 inch. For me it look much better, and I don’t plan to carry it, 4 inch will shoot before. As trigger goes the gen2 feel like my pg100 champion. My gen1 shooter trigger better than my 1911

The new pythons have more in common with taurus revolvers than they do with pre 1975 pythons.

Often times I joke around here on Calguns. But the above sentence is no joke.

I don’t own one but I was able to handle the 3 inch version and holy cow, if that isn’t just a sweet spot for a naturally pointing revolver! Damn good looking too.

Aren't the new Pythons basically MKIII Troopers? Anyway, it was the fit and finish that made Python's bad ***, not the performance. Most every serious shooter in the day still shot S&W.

I have a 1980 4? Python in electroless nickel/Coltguard finish. Personally I wish it was a blued 6? version. As far as the new ones go that 3? version looks great and I?d get one of those, but still have a craving for a 6?. When I shoot my friend?s older stainless six incher I like it much better than the short ones.

4" is the sweet spot. I know, I know I'm holding a 6" in my avatar but that's just for show.

The internal mechanism on a Trooper was powered by coil springs. The Pythons (including the new ones) are powered by leaf springs. The new ones leaf springs are different than the new ones, but they are leaf springs.

As far a Taurus goes I bought one 10 years ago and found the fit and finish to be subpar at best. I got rid of it.

I don't know any Colt pistol owner who admits to, or is happy with, going off the traditional finishes or barrel lengths. But why rub it in.

I'd say the real answer is patience. Don't settle for less by rationalization. Save up some bucks, maybe sell off guns you don't want,
work some overtime, and buy the real mick coy so you don't have to explain the obvious for the rest of your life.
