.32 Skidoo

Took two of my .32 revolvers to the range today for a little ammo comparison in preparation for a bulk order--a Ruger LCR .327 Federal Magnum and a Charter Arms .32 H&R Magnum -- and shot four generations of .32 ammo. Began with a couple of boxes of .32 S&W Short that I picked up somewhere along the way, then a box of .32 S&W Long wadcutters, then a cylinder of .32 H&R Magnum and final six rounds of .327 Federal Magnum, which is almost impossible to find. The range of power and recoil was amazing. The shorts had about as much umph as a .22LR while the .327 Mag was very loud, with recoil comparable to a .357 Magnum. .32 Longs were pleasant and accurate and the .32 H&R Magnums were stout but moderate recoil, about like a .38 Special in my Ruger LCR and S&W 642 snubbies. .32 must be the most versatile family of cartridges of all time.

I really enjoy the .32 longs from my Undercoverette, the .32 H&R has some nice pop!
