    Ruger Mark IV?Why just one?

So, Ruger makes at least eight models of this pistol, yet the blockheads in Sacramento only allow one (#40183) on the certified list. Any particular reason why? I emailed the folks at the Firearms Bureau and they had no answer for me. I seem to remember the Mark IV not being on the list at all in years past, so is this their idea of loosening up, or are they simply terrified of permitting more semi-autos?

This is the only one that Ruger submitted.

And I want the stainless Hunter or Comp and the 22/45. I think many here on CG want ones other than the "one" that's on the roster, but we'll all have to (im)patiently wait for Ruger to go through the process with the other Mark IV variants to get them on the Roster, if they decide to do so.

          What he said.

          Under CA laws...

Each variation (SKU #) needs to be individually tested in order to be listed on-Roster.

So, if a manufacturer only submits one variation, then only that variation gets listed.

They probably submitted one just to see if it was worth it.

I?d imagine if it is we?ll see more.

That's the one with threaded barrel, isn't it?

Almost all 22/45 Lite's are threaded, however!

ONE model, 43921 is non-threaded and therefore, has a chance to make it on the roster. Of course, if Ruger does decide to submit that one, the model number will change, even though everything else will be the same.

They got one that isn?t or they can just attach the thread protector.

The non-threaded barrel 22/45 Lite uses a faux thread protector and is held in via O-ring.

OP, you should be calling Ruger, not our evil overlords. Ruger is the only one who can tell you what they are doing to sell more pistols in California.

I called Ruger. I spoke with a very nice lady, but she couldn't tell me when other guns would be added to the Roster, or which have even been submitted. It's the "When we know, we'll tell you." response.
