The G47 is nothing special. I bought one and I’m wondering why I bought it. A straight G17 or G19 is the best options. Then again, I’ve collected every single Glock 9mm model in every generation, sold in the USA (except the 18). Naturally I had to have the 47. But its concept for the normal citizen is pointless. It was a customs and border patrol contract idea.

I just bought one too. The deciding factor for me was that it was in stock already with the Ameriglo sights that have the orange front sight, and the 17 Gen 5 MOS set up that way wasn?t. I do think it looks a little better than a 17 but that?s just personal preference and I might get a 19 Gen 5 eventually to play around with swapping slides.

But if I had to pay the California off roster premium, I?d probably just buy a 17 as the price for a 47 will probably be more due to the novelty of it. Or just buy a 17 Gen 3 and spend the money you save to have the slide cut for an optic and upgrade other parts.
