    HSC test locations

    Hello all, I'm looking to get my handgun safety certificate when I get the Glock 23 i'm looking to buy. I'm in Santa Barbara county, and I'm not finding any close HSC test locations anywhere online. Does anyone have a list of available qualified HSC test areas? Or if you know any near Santa Barbara, please let me know!

    BTW, anyone looking to sell their G23 for around $450-$500 range?

      Your local gun shop would probably be the first place you should look.

          yep, if they sell guns they should have the test too, sometime they give you a discount on your hsc if you buy your gun there.
          Just looked at mine I need to renew it.

              Local ranges also do the HSC, sometimes.

                  Most gun shops should offer the HSC test. But some shops, wont let you take the test, unless you're buying from them. Im not sure if they can deny me a HSC test, but one shop here in Fresno did, so I took my business somewhere else.

                      Do a search on gun shops. Usually, where ever guns are sold is where HSC can be taken.

                      Or why not just take it where you're purchasing the G23?

                          I may just do that Greg-Dawg. Thanks for the info you all! I wasn't aware that most gun shops also performed HSCs.

                              Most gun stores will charge you $25 for the test. You can also buy a review booklet for $0.50.

                                  Save yourself the 50 cents and go to http://ag.ca.gov/firearms/forms/pdf/hscsg.pdf , online and you can study it for free. Test is easy all common sense. Good luck!

                                      Try Goleta Valley Gun. The owner is a nice guy. I took my test there. Explain your situation (buying used) and I bet he would let you take it. Uncle Pauls if you are down in Ventura. Actually, Uncle Pauls has great prices on Glocks and a ton in stock. Mention you are a CalGunner and see what he can hook you up with. $510+ tax, DROS, and test.
