Question for the Ultra Carry ii owners.
I have been eyeballing the Kimber UC II for years now and am tired of waiting. The only differences I can read on the Kimber site is Carbon barrel vs Steel match grade barrel and the CA one has the less appealing synthetic grip. ohh and the CA price is $200 more MSRP. The Kimber site also mentions the sights but in the shop the CA does have the fiber front.
In the past I always thought the free state UCII (never seen one in person) stainless slide and frame were close to identical and the CA slide looked more brushed aluminum than it did stainless.
So I get the steel match grade is more accurate so we lose out slightly there. Am I missing anything else that would make it worth trying to get my hands on the non CA one?
what did California really accomplish by making the other UCII not compliant?
