The Springfield Loaded Target 9mm was my second 1911 and first in 9mm. I've had mine for around 13 years now and still love shooting it. After about six months of owning it I sent it back to SA because the rear sight broke . While it was there I had the custom shop do some work on it and wish I had more done but I'm happy with the way it is. It's a great shooter and will keep it until I can't shoot anymore and hopefully my daughter will keep it. And now a bad pic.

That was my first 1911, as evidenced by the idiot scratch on the gun. Glad I got 1911 right of passage done on that gun! Its too bad our crap roster limits us to only two lukewarm 9mm 1911 options. I keep reminding myself...one day that roster will go away...hopefully in our lifetimes.

I was on the fence about this gun, tested one at smokin barrel and then decided on the CZ SP-01.

I would suggest that you send the gun back to SA to pin the ejector. the only downside of this gun is the ejector is glued into the slot instead of pinned. I sent my gun back to fix this and it was free (my ejector fell off the frame)

                Very nice report.
I used have this gun for couple of years and enjoy shooting it. I really missed. Now I have some sort of 1911, it is much more advanced, still love that SA.

I also got some 10rd mags to go with it but my next thing is trying to find extend base plates for the mags. It’s a great shot but like most 1911’s very easy to shoot.
Did same thing to mine. Should be considered "standard upgrades". The two piece guide rod is really lame and unnecessary IMO. I still have a full length rod in mine just not a two piece.

Went with Dawson fiber optic front sight.

I was less than impressed with mine. Bought new in 2018, not impressed with fit, finish, or accuracy. Not terrible, but not great. Sharp edges, loose fit, mediocre accuracy. It's entirely possilbe that it was a bad example, one that SA would have fixed or replaced, but I didn't like it enough to pursue it. I already had a pair of 9mm 1911s that shot great - I just wanted one in stainless. I got over it.

                          Good Info OP

                          No real complaints.
The only downside for me was the grip safety palm swell.
The "memory bump" as SA calls it would cause discomfort after +100rds
Decided to install standard grip safety, slight fitting but not crazy.
Also painted the the front sight, used water based paint with tooth pick for application.
One coat white than orange, top half only.
Keeping one mostly stock, playing around with other.
                          Very soft shooter.

Added a Gold Cup style trigger, thin G10 grips, magwell with new main spring housing that removed the lock.

Thanks for the write up, OP.

                            Looks like a keeper.
