    Thoughts on Sig Sauer SP2022.

Saw a used Sig SP2022 at my LGS today for $449. Comes with 2 mags and case. Looked brand new.

    Worth it?

      Does it come with NS?

      Seems like pre-covid pricing.

If you’re in the market, sure.

      Otherwise, I’d spring for a 226/229.

Yeah, it had night sights. Sig Pro Night Sights I believe.

Yeah, that's a dam good deal honestly. The Sig SP2022 and the SP series in general has always been way underrated. They are solid and right up there with other top tier proven firearms.
I don't have any personal experience or own one but would at that price.

The SP2022 being hammer fired has a better trigger than most polymer framed guns you'll ever fire. Really great entry level gun that Sig totally botched the marketing on and it just never sold very well.

Sig has numbers on their front sights, if you don't like the typical Sig sight picture there's a chart for which number will do what to your POA/POI.

I don't know why people live with sights they're not happy with, 5 minutes, and like $20-50 for a new front sight and you're golden.

Get it. That's a great price for a solid pistol. Mags are expensive. I had one that i got for like $400 but that was 10 years ago. Sold it cuz i swapped to Glocks. FYI, .40 mags work in the 9mm and will hold 12 rounds.

Oh and new they're $599 at most shops.

it's not the sights, it's the height of the sight line above your grip.

SIG SP2022 is probably the most underrated model in SIGs entire lineup. It's just as capable as any other SIG out there, and @ $449 it's a bargain. Grab it before someone else does

Check out the SA and especially the DA trigger. The SA trigger is as good as any pistol around. The DA pull is super duper long and breaks at the very back of the pull which is also why the SA pull is so good.

Understand that the barrel hood and where the barrel locks up with the front of the frame will wear off the bluing very quickly unless you are anal retentive about heavily lubricating the barrel. The tight lockup is part of the accuracy of the gun. The 2022 tames 40 S&W very nicely and I would guess 9mm should be very soft shooting. Unfortunately as stated above, magazines are shamelessly expensive.

Get it. $450 is a great deal for an SP2022. I always wanted one for years. Finally got one last year used for $450. Very bright nightsites.

It shoots great, more than adequate for defense. Only thing to be aware of is the trigger breaks really far back so it might be an issue for guys with big hands or long fingers. But nothing 50rds of practicing wont "fix".

This first 50rds i put through mine at 10yds. Not the best but good enough for me. Pic is sideways.

I have one I won at a raffle. I'd never heard of it but thought for the $20 raffle ticket what the hey. Really surprised with the accuracy and the gun in general. Get one!

I just paid north of $600 for a new one. shoulda held out for a used deal like this. I've shot a couple of SP2022, found them quite smooth and very reliable. Hope you can pick it up!

Friend has one, which I have shot extensively. Where it shows the more "budget" side of itself is when you shoot it back to back with the 226 and 229. The difference is not quite "night and day," but you can most definitely tell where the shortcomings are vs the P series pistols. However, for that price, you are getting a solid handgun from Sig.
