Would you mind posting a pic of the slide cut without the cover plate? I’m curious to know if it has four posts or two. I believe the rear posts on a factory Shield / Shield Plus OR need to be removed in order to fit a Holosun 407k/507k. Maybe this one is made with two front posts only.Comment

Old Shield Optic Ready Slides had four posts, new ones have two shallow posts compatible with Holosun footprint (also known as modified RMS/RMSc footprint)Would you mind posting a pic of the slide cut without the cover plate? I had my Shield milled at Gunfighter Tactical yesterday while I waited. It costs $175. It's done with precision on their huge CNC machine.
You have the choice of milling in front of the rear site like those pics previously show or removing the rear site and getting milled on the rear end. I did the later for greater distance to the front site post.
They mounted the tiny $300 Holosun micro 2 moa red dot, perfect fit, small, located at the rear to avoid hanging up on a holster.
That red dot can be circle, dot or both. Moving the gun turns it on, 10 minutes later without movement it shuts off.Comment

That's pretty cool. Glad that S&W is giving us options, even those of us who live behind enemy lines.
How many of you carry CCW and practice with a red/green dot? I have a Ruger Max 9 that I bought specifically to try a green dot on for carry, but I have not made it to the range yet. If I like it, I would definitely get this slide for my trusty, well used Shield 1.0NRA Certified Metallic Cartridge Reloading Instructor, Shotgun Instructor and Range Safety Officer

Hhhhmm... I, too, would like the same. But, would it be profitable considering all the 3rd party stuff? Also, the MOS platform doesn't seem to get good reviews from the more hardcore users (as if they matter, anyways)...

I take my Holosun-equipped G26 in AIWB to an action pistol match to see how I perform with the gun in a more dynamic setting rather than a static indoor range. When I had better eyes, I even took my just iron sights Shield, as well. How many of you carry CCW and practice with a red/green dot? Here you go - two front posts and two screw holes:

It would be nice if they offered one in an irons-forward configuration, but nice to see them offering it none-the-less.
Just send it out to get milled. The pre-milled replacement slides are great for guns that you wouldn't want to "screw up", have a dumb LCI right where the optic should go, or ones that you can't easily get a replacement slide for, but a G3 Glock?
Glock's MOS system is also only okay for the price of a new MOS slide you could have Agency AOS your slide and have the ability to run whatever optic you want and irons forward, or for like $75 have it direct milled by one of the little guys doing it for cheap these days.Comment
