SIG P226 - Trigger JOB

Hi guys,

I have Sig226. I was wondering if I should get a trigger job, and get some springs replaced. I haven't shot it much, no issues, but seems to have a little play in the trigger and a long reset.

What are your recommendations?? Thanks!!!!

depending on what you want, you can go with a carry level job, or a really light target setup.

SRT means "short reset trigger".

I've personally installed these kits in both my P229 and P226, while I didn't install one in my P225. The reset with the kits installed is noticeably shorter, but NOT having it in my P225 isn't a big deal (to me).

Watch some Youtube videos on the disassembly or install of an SRT kit before making the decision to:

do it yourself;

send the gun out (a big hassle nowadays and costlier with shipping involved, also a "wait" time);

or don't do anything as the OP's SIG trigger likely feels just like any stock SIG old-school-P-series trigger.

Get the Grayguns DASA trigger and the SRT kit. It takes 10 minutes or less to install, I can do it in about 5 mins.

My belief is get things done you want when you can as in the future parts etc. could become harder to find.

What you have is one of the finest standard "service pistols" in the world...NOT a competition race / bullseye gun. It is what it is. Leave it alone.

OP, a Short Reset Trigger might be all you need. I put SRTs in every DA/SA SIG I own. If you can follow along on a YouTube video, you can do it too.

I have the SRT in my West German P226 and the trigger is noticeably better than my other DA/SA Sigs.

I think sig used to offer trigger jobs from what I remember? Not sure if they still do

All of my Sigs have the GG SRT kits and custom strut package with the 17lb mainspring. It smooths out the DA pull and reduces the DA pull weight to approximately 7lbs. I have them installed on West German, German and US models.
