SIG as a brand?

I love my Legion P226. It shoots great, its NEVER jammed or had issues. I like SIG as a brand. But I'm a newbie in the shooting world.

(I may regret going down this rabbit hole), but what is the shooting world's opinion of SIG? As a loyal SIG shooter, what ridicule, if any, will I face at the shooting club for being dedicated to this brand?

Bro. Within the last year alone, i bought 8 sigs. P320 axg pro, p320 axg scorpion, p320 axg classic, p320 axg equinox, p226 zev, p232, p229 legion, and p226 x-five. And ive never looked back.

Most people won’t care as long as you are acting in a safe manner.

Some folks will explain that your choice is wrong and why a Glock/1911/etc is better. If you stare flatly at them, most will take the hint and walk away.

I did about 8 months of dedicated research and shooting other guns before deciding on SIG for my first pistol. I, of course, had shot many MANY others before deciding to get my own (im not new to shooting, just new to owning). I like the brand, I like the quality, I like the dependability. It seems to fit my taste

The treatments are very effective however, and grow with time.

Well like most MFG's they've got some good and bad. The P226 and P220 variants are excellent. I own a P226 Enhanced Elite. It's a great gun. But then they've got the P320...which could be a great gun and which a lot of people really like...but it does have a bit of a tendency to go bang all on it's own...and they can't seem to get it resolved.

For me in the past 30 plus years of shooting them, SIG models have always been reliable
and accurate with excellent gun handling attributes.

I figure I'll stay with the brand for another 6 months or so. How much dependability can
a man be expected to handle?

I finally decided to get a .40 caliber pistola. I found a P229 .40 and have no regrets.
Best thing about these pistols is you can change calibers with just slide change outs.

For years the only Sig I had was a West German P226. I was content with it as my only metal framed Sig until I bought a P210. After that I realized just how darn nice the classic P series Sigs were and I went on a buying spree and now I have five of them and a M17 and M18.

The P210 has probably the best trigger out of the box of any production gun I have ever tried and is laser accurate. The P226 is an awesome gun and the P220 is tied with my HK USP 45 as the softest shooting .45acp I have.

I have a certain fondness for the Sig brand. I have a P365 with various grip modules and barrels, 3 P238s and a P938. Like all other manufacturers though, they certainly aren’t perfect. They tend to use buyers as initial beta testers for new(er) models. I remember once the customer service rep got on my case for swapping a P365 FCU to a different grip module, which resulted in needing a minor repair of a part, when they offer and advertise the various grip module changes for the P365. I just laughed at him and he sent me a delibery label anyway. I’ve had pretty good luck with their customer service overall, when needed. Enjoy your Sig!

Only one Sig so far. A P238 which I didn't care for. Not an issue with quality and more that it didn't fit its intended purpose. Very good gun that shot well, but didn't fit what I needed.

Moving at the end of the month so I'm looking forward to being able to pick up a P365 or two at market price. Probably the original 365 and an X Macro or XL. Decisions... I also wouldn't mind picking up an older police trade 226 or 229.
