Just replace the shoe. A lot of aftermarket trigger assemblies use the OEM bar already. Same reliability and everything else with a different shoe.

I hated my P226 prior to installing my Armory Craft trigger, aesthetically a flat trigger over a curved trigger all day, 100% of my 1911's have curved triggers, I've yet to try a flat one...

It really depends on what your comfortable with. Flat trigger give you a "precieved" feeling the trigger is lighter then a curved trigger. For me, I prefer flat triggers just due to the feel on my finger.

Curved triggers give you a natural stationary spot to pull the trigger which the flat triggers do not. This is especially important when firing multiple rounds.

I have a M&P Core that I've put an Apex Flat Faced Trigger w/forward set sear into, and it's absolutely fantastic. It's a as close to a 1911 trigger, in a suspended pivoting trigger, that I've found. YMMV.
