Help with picking a 1911 Trigger

Getting my 1911 tuned up and need to select a trigger.
Gonna be a carry gun and use on fun shoots.
Going with 4lbs pull but cannot select a good trigger.
    Advice on what you used?

    Appreciate it.

      Hmmmm

      Well that may be,
but that trigger is stuffed and in a museum, not much help in a gunfight.
      Yea, that was funny!

I have a Dlask in mine that I like. But might go for something with a full width bow for a carry gun.

I put these STI polymer triggers on both of my 1911s. I think they are great.

I don't know whether or not it's any worse for carry (my 1911 is purely a range gun), but I was looking for a smooth face trigger since I don't like the way serrations feel against my trigger finger, and I ended up using this in my 1911:
Brownells has been serving hunters, shooters, and first responders since 1939 and is one of the most trusted suppliers and manufacturers in the World.

It's the mid length one, but I think they also offer it in long as well.
I've liked it so far because it's lightweight and is comfortable for my finger, but it all depends on your preference in triggers. Just my 2 cents since most of the triggers you see out there are serrated.

+1 for the STI. I have the Long version, and am pretty happy with it.

What kind of 1911 do you have?

I'm a big fan of my Dlask triggers on a couple of my 1911's. But there are alot of custom 'smiths that don't like them saying they are hard to fit/tune due to soft bows on the triggers. Wilsons are good as are the Greider triggers, Wilson you oviously can get from Wilson, Greider is available from Brownells.

Most folks like the long length. You will have to see what works for you lengthwise.

Greider makes a smooth face trigger. You can also dress off a serrated face trigger to make it less sharp on the edges. Just chuck it up in a vise and give it the shoeshine treatment with a strip of emery cloth.

I like solid triggers for carry guns. All those holes strike me as crap collectors. Yes the odds of a something getting lodged in there are very low but I believe in addressing every risk you can eliminate.

Also, for a carry gun, no adjustment screw or a loctited one is warranted. An out of adjustment screw will take your gun out of service.

FWIW Greider makes the triggers for a lot of folks.
