    Pawning a Gun

Thanks to the suggestion of a Calguns member here I now know how to convert my Ruger LC380 into an LC9, update the DROS, and pit it on my CCW; the answer is to pawn the Ruger LC380 with the 9mm conversion so that when I pick up the gun it's reDROSed as a 9mm.
So my question is how does the process work? Can I pawn and pick up the same day? Typically how much does a aown shop charge in fees (not including the DROS)? So when I pick-up the gun I have to pay the fee to reDROS? And how about the 10 day waiting period, does it apply even though I already had the gun in my possession?

I know for sure that once you place the gun into pawn it will go into the books of the gun store that allows the pawn. When you get the gun back out of pawn you will have to wait 10 days again like a normal California gun purchase.

Have you checked with your issuing ccw agency; as my issuing ccw agency will allow me to have different uppers for different calibers on the ccw as king the frame / lower is registered to me. As it is becoming very common for people to have one lower and a couple uppers to change the caliber.

IIRC you will pay DROS and the 10-day wait does apply

Send a PM to Acepawn, he can answer your question accurately

Now there's an oxymoron if ever there was one.

The words "normal" and "California gun purchase" should never appear in the same sentence.

I pity you all, my former fellow inmates in California.
