    CZ75 PO1 trade

A fellow wants to trade me a CZ P01 with Cajun upgrade and several magazines for the Ruger SR11 lightweight Commander I got in a trade recently.

I didn't go looking for the Ruger or a CZ but I'm not in love with the Ruger. It is awfully light for a .45 and I'm not planning on carrying it (I have a 3913 TSW for that duty).

The OP says their piece is worth 1,100 with the upgrades added in. I had a CZ75 BD and didn't care for it because of the trigger.

    Your thoughts?

Since you’re in NC you have options; in CA the Ruger is off roster and
unobtanium. CGW upgrades add some value, but I’d keep the 1911.

Who did the work on the CZ? Was is sent to CGW for the work or was a shadetree installation?

P-01 with CGW properly installed changed the pistol from one that was uncomfortable for me to shoot to a favorite.

CZ pistols are fine guns. The P01 is near the top for practical use/carry. With CGW parts, properly installed, you should be getting a really nice handgun.

This is the message sent to me by the OP along with pictures:

"... a like new cz75 sp01 safety model that has 3 18round mags, g10 grips and is fully cajunized with cajun gunworks adjustable sear assembly, short reset, race hammer, and trigger, dawson precision fiber optic front and target rear sight. It is the complete pro package plus grips and sights. "

Later he mentioned that the work was done by Cajun.

I'm going to see it this Sunday and decide at that time. The Ruger is easily purchased here in freedomland so it is a nice pistol but nothing unusual. As I mentioned before it is too big for me to CC and too light for fun range shooting. I already have a Colt Officers Model for a compact 1911.

OK, good to know. I think it helps if CGW does the work. They provide a spec card which will indicate the gunsmith that worked on it and the measured pull weights after the work was done.

I went ahead and picked it up. CGW may not have done the upfitting, the OP didn't know who did for sure. He thought they had but he didn't have any evidence of that. Everything seems to work properly, and the trigger pull is significantly better than the CZ75BD I owned previously.

It was assembled in 2016 based on the test target in the pistol case. It has definitely been shot a good amount looking at the finish wear internally.

Hope to give it a quick test tomorrow just for function and the like.

I had $575 into the trade and got the pistol, paperwork, replaced parts, case, and three 18 rd magazines.

Interesting that your PO-1 has a safety. Mine, bought earlier this year, has the de-cocker. Also, the hammer on your piece is different and the beaver tail on yours is more pronounced.

Is the safety and other differences on yours due to CGW mods? Just curious.

Nice looking pistol. You'll enjoy it.

Mine shoots really well and has been perfectly reliable. It's my EDC.

? "If you want nice fresh oats, you have to pay a fair price. If you are satisfied with oats that have already been through the horse, well, that comes a little cheaper."

I don't know that much about them, but the internet has pictures of the series with both a decocker and safety. The hammer, slide release, and trigger/internals are CGW. I think the sights are some other make.
