USP Expert in standard case?

So I was talking to my brother about the HK, and it looks like the USP Expert came in just a standard HK USP "Hard case" instead of the special case that most of the experts I see out there are in. Does anyone know if the USP Expert is always supposed to come in that case, or was that just something special about certain Experts?

Mine came in a special gray softcase.

All of the newer experts that come in have came in a standard black HK box.

Mine came in the black softcase with all the goodies.

Mine (purchased new in 2002) came in a gray soft case.
