    A couple Bisleys

The cased 1900 vintage Colt Bisley was a .32-20 I bought in a consignment gun shop for $500 because it had a bulged barrel. I had a .44 barrel a friend gave me installed on it and already had a pre-war .44 Special cylinder. It shoots really good. The short barreled gun is a .32-20 made in 1910. I never shot it but reload for the .44.

Nice Bisleys! I’ve always liked them and new they’ve been around a while but didn’t know when they came out. A quick google tells me they were introduced in 1894.

    Very cool!

Awesome, thanks for posting that. I can't afford a Colt, so I have a Ruger NM Vaquero Bisley in .45 Colt, a sweet handling shooter with that Bisley grip.

In a 42 year old Skeeter Skelton magazine I still have he mentioned as a kid in Texas seeing a guy open Budweiswer bottles with the hammer of his Bisley. Long before I had my gun changed to .44 special I had to try it. But they were twist off caps of course. It worked, but I never did that again. This gun's barrel is bulged just behind the front sight. I only noticed it and pointed it out to the store owner while checking the bore.

It's a wonder the gun didn't break itself in protest, that was designed to open Lone Star's.

                  The Bisley grip is superior

                  Well, for target shooting anyway.

A ways back the Bisley’s were undervalued compared to the standard SAA, and were easier to collect.

                  Is that still the case?
