Which is the best variant of the H&K P2000 .40S&W? Between the two DAO models, is the lighter 5 lbs. trigger pull of Variant 1 better than the 8 lbs. trigger pull of Variant 2?

Which is the best H&K P2000?

If you insist on having DAO p2000 (which I BTW have) you need to remember that it takes only change on 2 springs to take it from one variant to other.
Springs cost like $9 + shipping, so it defenetly good deal.
See http://hkpro.com/forum/showthread.php?t=40627 here for details....sigpicThe essence of Western civilization is the Magna Carta, not the Magna Mac. The fact that non-Westerners may bite into the later has no implications for their accepting the former.

Saw this morning Today Show NBC 12/11 about pilots being trained by air marshalls to defend in-flight takeovers. They were clearly using HK P2000's. I bet they were HK P2000's in 9mm V3. The follow-up interview with a pilot seemed to stress shot placement. SHOT PLACEMENT.Last edited by Guest; 12-11-2006, 6:02 PM.Comment

V3! Get the SA/DA. I believe the DAO models have no provision for a decocker on the slide if you wanted to retrofit.
The DA pull on the V3 is so clean. I love my P2K!Comment

So how practical would the SA/DA be for concealed carry? If you're going to carry it, you'll probably want to decock it. The means your first shot is going to be different than the second shot. If you have the DAO, your first shot will be the same as your last shot. Not mention that it's safer carrying your pistol around in Double Action mode because the longer trigger pull.
What do you guys think?
Furthermore, if you had to decide between V1 and V2, which would you choose? Would you go for the lighter or heaver trigger pull?
If you really think that SA/DA would be better for concealed carry then tell me why.Achievement of your happiness is the only moral purpose of your life, and that happiness, not pain or mindless self-indulgence, is the proof of your moral integrity, since it is the proof and the result of your loyalty to the achievement of your values. -Ayn RandComment

Like I said - if you decide to go with DAO ( HK calls it LEM ) gat whatever variation, spend $9 on the springs and after 15 minutes you will be able to convert from variation to variation.
Then you can decide for yourself which one you like more.....sigpicThe essence of Western civilization is the Magna Carta, not the Magna Mac. The fact that non-Westerners may bite into the later has no implications for their accepting the former.

Well, none of the variant 1 P2000's are CA-approved, so it is a moot point which one we like best. But all things being equal, I would prefer a 5lb trigger versus a 8lb trigger.Comment

What are trying to here - start and new war thread between 9mm and .45?
IMO P2000 has better ergonomics.... And it is the latest (if you not counting P3000) pistol.....
I understand that mechanically they almost the same, but Lunde is better person to verify that....sigpicThe essence of Western civilization is the Magna Carta, not the Magna Mac. The fact that non-Westerners may bite into the later has no implications for their accepting the former.
