WC trigger spring kit for S&W K,L&N.

Installed one in my model 19-9 classic, the gun has 750 rounds fired and the heaviest pull of all my Smith wheelguns.

My trigger pull gauge showed a average of 5.5 SA and over 12 lbs DA, so high the gauge couldn’t read it.

The kit came with a Hammer spring and three trigger return springs in 12, 13 and 14 lbs. of course I installed the 12 lb spring.

Installation is straight forward and simple, biggest concern not scratching the blue side plate. Lots of vids on the line…Vince Vaughan jk.

Results SA average of 3 lbs, DA average of 7.5…huge difference. Haven’t shot her yet, but did check ignition with a live primer only shell casing in DA, fired with deep penetration of the primer. But still need to confirm with live ammo, will do next week.

Now do I want to put a kit in my model 19 carry comp. It is a S&W performance shop gun and comes with a better trigger then the 19 classic. The SA pull is roughly the same as the stock 19 classic at around 5.5, the DA pull is much better at 9.5 not too bad.

But 2-2.5 higher then the 19 classic with the WC kit, now I do carry the 19 CC. Not often but occasionally. I’ll think this over more after range testing the classic.

For $14 it’s a hell of a difference and an easy install if you have a Smith with a too heavy trigger. Final thought, I’m most likely going to take the 12 lb trigger return spring out and put the 14 in. While the trigger does return fine, I like it to return a little harder then it does with the 12…put the 13lb spring in much better.

There's a little more to a trigger job than just swapping springs.

I wouldn't mess with a carry gun. You want it 100% reliable.

I'm all for folks slightly modifying one's carry guns to one's satisfaction. I realize not everybody has the skill, knowledge, or desire to do so. It makes things much more convenient when a person can do his/her own work.

I'll look forward to hearing more about how "stormvet" likes his revolvers as time goes by.

Not my first rodeo replacing springs in a wheelgun, like said it’s not rocket science but can make a huge difference if you don’t push the envelope too far.

As long as you have reliable ignition and use a good product what’s not to like. I’ve used Wolff springs in the past, but never had a gun show this much improved from just a simple spring change in the past.

Bravo Wilson Combat…one hell of a product.

My race revo comes in at 6 pounds, double action (no single action spur because in not a girly man) but I have to use Federal Small Pistol Primers for 100% reliable ignition.

FYI, the WC kit is actually made by Wolff.

Smith & Wesson OEM parts are superior quality compared with what is found in parts kits.

I lived thru the revolver to semiautomatic pistol transition. And during those years I competed in PPC where everyone
and his dog shot revolvers of all kinds. Off the shelf easy-does-it trigger improvements are slow motion catastrophes.

My gunsmith uses a Jerry Miculek spring kit, Apex double action hammer, extended firing pin, then polishes, shims, and chamfers...

This results in a six pound double action trigger pull for Federal Small Pistol Primers, ONLY.

                              After the deed is done...

Use Federal Small Pistol Primer only. Okay. But remember...

That means Winchester, CCI, Remington, magnum pistol primers of any kind ain't gonna work worth sheet.

                              Put another way:
The availability of 7 out of 8 USA made pistol primers are not going to work in your gun after you improved it.

                              1) Winchester Standard & 2) Magnum Primers,
                              3) CCI Standard & 4) Magnum Primers,
                              5) Remington Standard & 6) Magnum Primers,
and 7) Federal Magnum Pistol Primers.

All work for sheet with our home improvements. Am I missing something?
