Just held a RTF I've never shot one. I didn't like the feel of it at all. 3rd gen FTW

I was able to shoot a G22 RTF at a local range. Normally, I shoot 9mm and .45, so please factor that into my analysis.

I didn't care for the new RTF design. I found the stipling (dots, nibs, or whatever) to be uncomfortable. In particular, it irritated my firing hand fingers where they wrapped around the grip and the palms of both of my hands after about 50 rounds. I think my fingers were slipping ever so slightly between shots causing the discomfort.

I like the new serrations in the slide design, but that seems purely aesthetic. As many have stated, I wish that Glock had added slide serrations to the front of the slide, too.

All in all, if there was some way to get just the new slide as a replacement for my Gen 3 G17, I would do it in a heartbeat. For now though, I will stick with the older style.

I've only held a G22RTF in my hand. I find that it's ever so slightly easier to reach the trigger. I find the new rough texture to be... odd feeling to say the least. I can't say that I felt like I was gripping the gun better, just slightly differently. Comparing a G22 and a G22RTF back to back, aside from the grip texture, the slight amount of relief done to the grip at the top of the backstrap makes it feel l'm gripping the pistol a little closer to the barrel bore or perhaps a little bit more into the gun. (If that makes any sense.) I get the impression that I'd probably shoot with just a little less muzzle flip than I'm used to... or perhaps a little better. Don't know... for sure as I've not shot one... but that's the impression I get from holding an RTF.

Held a G22 RTF2 and found it to be nothing special. I personally like the gen 3 Glock better.

Same here. It felt too sharp for my liking.

I currently have the RTF, and shoot quite a few of the regular Gen 3. They are VERY comfy, but it does take some time to get used to. I have sweaty palms, so the RTF really sticks to my hand. Girls who shot my RTF likes it too compared to regular gen 3.

With that said, the RTF is definitely not for everyone. Go to the range and rent one or go to shop with both that you can handle and play with. The way it feels is subjective, so go handle one.
