So years ago here on the forum I bought a S&W 64-3 revolver. It has a very unusual double action only trigger and heavy barrel supposedly built by master gun smith Hamilton Bowen. Is there any way to confirm such a build? It is a fine build that has brought me great joy for the past 10+ years. Thank you with any help.

That’s a gun I’d like to see. A couple years back I saw a S&W Chiefs Special Model 36 on consignment in a gun shop for a pretty good price that I can’t remember. I liked that the hammer spur was removed for DA only though it could still be cocked, but very carefully. The clerk felt obligated to say that because of that modification it was illegal for concealed carry here in CA. Ever hear of that before?Comment
