well you couldn't sell the 30 or 50 round mag in CA to most people. You could disassemble them and sell them as a parts kit.

The bullet buttons have been made for AR-15s and other guns that lock the mag into place so that it is no longer a detachable magazine firearm. Not sure if one has been developed for the TEC-9 or AB-10.

Looking at gunbroker at the recently ended auctions, it looks like they are selling for $200-$300.

I hope his gun is a reg'ed AW. If it is not, he is in possession of an illegal firearm.

If it is reg'ed, he'd have to make it a non-AW before he tries to sell it within the CA borders.

He did not register it as an assault weapon. Can he still sell it in Ca somehow?

I'm sure your friend thanks you for outing him on a public forum monitored by LE/DOJ. There is little or no anonymity on the Net.

Your post is the perfect example of "How Not to Deal with a Delicate Legal Situation".

Since you screwed the pooch for him, he should IMMEDIATELY disassemble the gun as far as possible, and/or install a BB on it. He may or may not not even have time to acquire a BB. He should not move or transport it as that aggravates illegal unreg'd AW charges.

Given the nature of the Tec9/AB10 architecture/design, even disassembled it might be regarded as a 'broken AW' and it may be best if he contacts an attorney immediately to arrange for surrender/disposal to LE agency without charges.

And if any one asks him about gun status he should STFU and contact a lawyer.
