    Freedom Arms

Anyone know what the market for Freedom Arms 454 Casulls is like out there? I've got 2, love em but the recoil is a little much for 77 year old wrists, elbows and shoulders.

Can't you shoot low-power .45LC cowboy loads? Several years ago my dad asked me about trading in his .357mag for a more manageable .39special. When I reminded him that he didn't need a new gun to do that, he laughed and said he couldn't believe how he'd simply overlooked that small fact..

Google “trail boss powder 454” for reduced velocity load ideas.

I'm not into heavy loads anymore with my Model 83 Premier. I have a .45 Colt cylinder for mine that comes in handy for reduced loads (I hand load all of my center fires). The manual specifically warns against reduced loads in the 454 case but I have figured out a way to do it safely (Lee factory crimp die).
