    Glock 43 question

I am seeing lots of G43's for sale on Calguns these days with prices ranging from $1,300 to more than $2,000. I'm a Glock agnostic because I prefer old school all-metal, hammer-fired pistols. But I am genuinely curious whether at those prices, several times as much as an S&W Shield or other similar handguns, Glock 43s are really worth it or something else is driving the prices. Please respond with answers to the question.

Its an off roster gun. Meaning regular civilians cant get them on their own. So people will pay the inflated price to get something only law enforcement can have. Any gun off roster will cost more.

            • The G43 is smaller than a Shield
            • It's a Glock
            • It doesn't have any nanny-state "safety" crap that might get you killed when you need the gun to run
            • It's off roster, with a high demand and very limited supply
            • Sellers only need one buyer, they don't need to set a price that appeals to a hundred people

              Pre-plandemic, they were about $850-1200

                What they said.

Pre-pandemic the price on them started to settle around $1000. Those that were priced higher kept getting bumped, until they were either pulled or their prices were lowered to around $1000 and then were sold at the price point.

No, it is absolutely not worth the CA price, and yes, I do own and carry one. Used G43s in Texas and other free states are priced low because many want to switch to the P365 platform. But I like mine because I can shoot it better than the 365.

IMO, the ONLY value the G43 has is concealed carry, it is a subpar range gun. If you are jonesing for that size 9mm, get a S&W M&P Shield 9, Riflegear has them under $500. It is only 1/4" taller and longer than a G43, but it is slightly thinner (1.06" vs. .95") and holds one more round in the mag. For concealed carry, it is a fine gun. If you really want a Glock of similar size, buy a Gen 3 G26.

Simply put, a G43 is no way worth 2-3X the retail price.

Recently picked a USA 43 in the Marketplace for $850 BNIB, he was asking 1k.
1k seems about the range these days. It’s pretty darn slim. I was a bit underwhelmed when I got my hands on it. It felt like I was paying $850 for a $400 gun. I suppose it’s a good CCW, still waiting on the approval from my local Sheriff. If I get denied I’ll probably end up selling it.

It’s a very nice shooting thin sub-compact carry gun, I’ve had one for seven years. Lots of rounds through it, lots of time in a IWB holster. Absolutely worth owning but not at those prices you mentioned, I bought the none-California model of the Shield way back in 2013. I still have it but don’t carry it anymore, 43 replaced it. I paid $385 for my 43 (blue label) add another $100 for the Trijicon HD sights I put on it. If the 43 would have set me back the prices you mentioned I’d still be carrying the Shield, it’s a fine gun.
Im a warmonger baby, I got blood in my eyes and I'm looking at you.

The Glock 43 anywhere outside CA is a $500 gun.

But in CA you will pay over that price if you want that here. And people will pay the price.

If you can find a shadow systems cr920

Like a glock 43 and glock 43x in one gun.

Also shoots like a glock 26
