    Am I missing something here?

I must admit I'm not fully in tune with the price structure for Sig X5's but I thought they were a fair shade more than $1500...

I see it's not the L1 model, I'm sure that accounts for alot...for some reason I thought they were all super expensive, not sayingi $1500 is cheap, but it's the sort of price I might want to pick one up :-)

    Regards,

The Competition model does not have the adjustable trigger of the L1, not the Nills grips. Those two items cause the price difference.

That's a good price for a Comp. The Turners around here has it for $1699 (or was it $1599???).

I wish we could get the L1 version. It allows you to tune the trigger down to 2 pounds and change. WOW

I bought my Comp when they first came out on the list for $1725. Wasn't impressed with it as there was some type of issue with the diconnector. When the gun would cycle, the trigger wouldn't work (wouldn't drop the hammer). This was an intermittent problem so it went back to Sig and a few weeks later was returned repaired. The trigger on my box stock P-226 was better (less creep, about the same weight) than the X-5's and the stock 226 was just as accurate. Wound up selling the X-5 after about 250 rounds with four factory 19 round mags for $1400. Personally, wouldn't consider another.

Wow, D1911, that sucks. Sorry to hear about your bad experience. Personally, I love my X-Five.
If I was forced to get rid of all my Sigs except one, the X-Five comp would be the keeper, hands down.

I purchased mine used (200 rounds through) for $1320 shipped. My buddy picked up a X-5 Comp in 40sw from Toovira (an awesome seller on Sigforum) for the mid to upper $1400s. Not a bad price at all.

FYI, the 9mm Comp is scheduled to go off-list in January. I am guessing Sig will renew it, but you never know...

Hrmm well thank you both for your input. If I got one I'd probably try to get it in 40 S&W. It's that or I'm picking up a P220ST, I know they're both very different guns. I gotta get my hands on an X5 to see how it feels. Some of the wood gripped P226/29 feel pretty wide in my hands, the regular P220 a bit narrow. I think a P220 with wood grips would probably be the Goldilocks gun for me.

Nope, you are not missing anything. That version and the price he sold it for as not much over dealer cost + shipping to the dealer. He just decided he couldn't sell it for much in his area or he is happy making $25 or so.
