        the bent piece of the metal is the ejector I believe. the 9mm ejectors are like that, .40 are straight, and .45 ejectors are elongated S shaped.

            NORMAL put it back in the spot it came out of when you stripped it.
            the notch under the barrel correct?

                Yes, totally normal. That IS the right spot/notch. You're pushing it in too far when you put it back together, but I don't think it will hurt anything. The spring floats into that spot on its own even if you don't get it exactly set when re-assembling.
