Model 325 Thunder Ranch Revolver

Has anyone here purchased/rented a SW Model 325 Thunder Ranch Revolver (.45 ACP)? If so, how do you like it? Are you pleased with the purchase? How does it handle? Would you recommend it? How does the light scandium frame affect recoil?

I just read an article on the SW Model 327 TRR8 Revolver (.357 Mag) and the writer mentioned that the moon clips were a little difficult to insert and extract. Since the 325 also uses moon clips I'd be interested to know if they too are a bit difficult to insert and extract?

I don't have any experience with the S&W Model 325TR, but I do own the S&W Model 325PD (2.5").

I'm pleased with it, cost me $408 OTD.
It's light weight and accurate.
However, the recoil is very stout. I thinks it's because of the combination of the short barrel and scadium frame.

IMO, don't use half-moon clips, stay with using full moon clips.
Loading with moon clips is significatly faster than using a speedloader on a .357Magnum revolver.
I also find it's faster to load with .45GAP in moon clips than with .45ACP in moon clips. The shorter OAL, seems to speeds up the process.
I just use a multi-tool to add/remove cartridges from the moon clips.

I have a 325 2.5" (no suffix), like it, pleased with it, no problems, the recoil is stout but controllable, even for rapid controlled pairs.

I use aftermarket moon clips that are very easy to load and unload. No problems getting the cylinder loaded rapidly.

It's a bit bulky to conceal, so in my case, it's mostly a safe queen.

I myself have been eying the TH 45 ACP revolver as well as the new S&W 8 shot 357. No personal experience yet. You can purchase 45 ACP with rims on them and avoid moon clips alltogether.

327 ACP

I have a 327 TRS 45 ACP revolver. The recoil is not much more than that of a smaller 1911. My old damaged hands can't really manage a large revolver trigger pull so I'm sticking with my Les Baer 1911 TRS. The Dillon Moon clips are easy to use.

If you want to shoot it I'll likely be at Bulls Eye San Rafael next (after this one) weekend.
