Advice for Glock 27 aim + control??

I put a box through my glock 27 .40 cal today, i shot rather poorly, it was an outdoor range at 25 years, out of 50 rounds, i put 18 in the black circle and another 7 in the next surrounding layer. i had at least 10 rounds hit god knows where, i have no idea how some of these rounds were so out of whack.

My basic technique is to line up the iron sights, calm my breathing, squeeze the trigger instead of pull, shoot on exhale.

The glock 27 is the baby glock, probably not the best for range target practice, but i have seen some people shoot extremely accurate with these.

Do you guys have any tips or advice?

I have the pierce grips so the mags hold 9 rounds and my pinky gets a little extra support.

I shot my friends Glock 19 in 9mm and was pretty accurate with it, it definately has way less kick than the baby 27.

        Practice, practice, practice.

That's all you need for advice. Go shoot it more, and maybe start off a little closer until you get to know the gun more.

Take a class at your local range.

Grip practice while you're watching TV.

Start at a more realistic range. A gun that sized is designed for self defense and you should be practicing at self defense distances. Start at 3 yards and work your way back incrementally to 15 yards. After you are comfortable with the pistol and competent with it at these ranges you can toy with being a sub-compact pistol sniper.

40 S&W in such a lightweight/small package doesn't lend itself to longer range accuracy.

Has anyone taught you proper grip technique? I cannot stress this enough to everyone I meet that shoots.

                Have a look.

Although I agree to start at a shorter distance, the G27 is more than capable at 25 yards. If you have the trigger control.

This is my slowfire at 25 yards freehand. It can be done.

DAMN i learned so much from this video thanks alot for posting that.

my support hand thumb position was WAY off, it was pointed at damn near 45 degrees to my shooting hand. i was also pulling the trigger all wrong, for some reason i thought maybe it would be ok to use the lower joint of my finger to pull the trigger, but watching that video clearly shows him only using the tip of his finger and not going below the joint.

the G27 has so much damn kick, i want to go back to the range and try and out the new things i learned. i think my main mistake is when i pull the trigger the gun moves around while doing so. like he said in the video "a hair at a time"

unforunately Cali ranges dont allow quick fire like in that video.

yea that guy with the G27 videos inspired me too, he also has a video of him shooting through a car hitting targets on the other side.

i think i was using my pinky too much and "milking" the grip.
