Rental CZ SP-01 trigger. Normal or abnormal

So, I wanted a Cz sp-01after reading and watching reviews singing its praises. Decided to rent one before putting money down. I only shot it in single action and was very surprised. People were praising this? There was nothing but creep and stacking, no discernable wall at all. Just creep and stack then bang.
There was no telling when it would go bang. I left disappointed.
So, is this a normal trigger, or, results of being a rental, should I give it another try?
    Thanks

Dry fire a new one then? If a shop won't let you test a trigger they don't deserve your business.

I've never heard anyone sing the praises of a stock Cz 75 series trigger.

I haven’t shot a stock trigger in awhile, but would prob agree with your description

I don’t know of anyone who praises the stock trigger, it’ just a regular Da/SA combat trigger

What you likely hear people praise is the aftermarket triggers available. My CGW SP01 is one of my best guns

I briefly had a used sp01 which I recently sold in favor of a tactical sport orange. I only fired 75 rounds but would definitely agree with your assessment wherein it was very difficult for me to discern the wall/break.

I also have a 75d compact/pcr which has been cajunized but I'd say the stock trigger on that one was also only OK at best.

The best stock trigger would be a 1911, unless you get a high end competition gun. I'm pretty sure it's better than a stock Glock. I shot a rental Taran Tactical Combat Master and that thing sucked. The magazine would drop almost every single shot, the trigger was loose, had slack, and creep. I shot better with my stock G19. Range guns are abused.

Sounds totally "normal" for a 75b or SP01. Their stock triggers just plain SUCK.

The TS is the way to go, or dump $400 into an SP01 at CJW.

Also, if you're in Nevada and your wallet can afford it, I'd just spring for a Shadow 2.

I have never said much positive about my SP-01 trigger or the gun in general really. I do like the gun, but all my CZ knock-offs have better triggers and it is on par with my CZ 40B.

The CZ 75D Compact PCR however, has a great stock trigger and really surprised me after owning a SP-01 first.

I dunno if I would say the SP-01 is as bad as you described... you can get used to it... but I have been planning to send it in to you-know-who for a while.

The triggers in my SP01s are nothing to write home about. Break is OK, but the take up and proceeding creep is irritating.

Gun you shot is probably well used and abused. Get one anyway and Cajunize it, if you can't tolerate the trigger.

The CZ 75 line are great combat weapons and as such have generous tolerances built in. This makes them very reliable in large scale practical use, but often leaves an individual precision shooter wanting. There is lots of variability from one gun to another.

Compared to other cold war era communist block weapons, I think the CZ 75 triggers are great. But I cringed the first time I paid $400 for one.

Fortunately, as mentioned earlier, there is now a lot of good aftermarket support for them. They are solid guns and fun to shoot. If you get one with a bad trigger, there are a lot of options out there for you.
