New Glock 20...single shot

Hello all, Happy New Year's...

I took the new Glock 20SF out with the OG MLC crew today. The slide locked back on every shot with a full mag. I can run through a mag by manually using the slide without problems. I tried the 2 mags that came with the gun and shot my own loads..

Any ideas?

The slide lock stop spring is not captured properly by the locking block pin or is broken would be my first guess.

Take the slide off. Flick the slide stop up repeatedly and it should return down with authority and speed every time. If not, check the spring.

I don't think this is what your suggesting but it is the slide lock spring

Nope, the little spring on the slide release. It needs to be under the top pin in the frame.

I have to assume you assembled the pistol wrong.

Here is the fix:

1. Remove the top pin (small locking block pin)
2, remove the bottom larger pin. (Trigger pin)
3. Slide out the slide lever (slide stop lever)
4, install the top pin. (Locking block pin)
5. #4 is very important. Notice that pin has a ridge?
6. Now. Focus. Slide the "slide stop lever" into position and notice
The wire spring bends UNDER the top pin (locking block pin).
7. While you're installing the slide stop, push the larger bottom pin
From right to left, using your thumb to move the slide stop to line up
The hole. Push it flush.
8. The wire spring being UNDER the top locking block pin will prevent
The pin from sliding out because it hits that GROOVE. (Ridge)

When I brought the gun home from the ffl I noticed the smaller top pin was pushed to the right. I had to drive it further out so I could realign it. I must of lost the spring when I did this, or it was already out ...WAIT!! I did drop the gun on my cowhide rug/carpet

The spring is captured to the slide stop and should not easily come off, but probably the spring leg ended up above the top pin when you had to reinsert it.

Or it was the carpet

Funny thing is it took me all of 60 seconds to fix it. Brand new gun too.

I guess I'll take it to the indoor range next week. See how things have changed since covid.
