I am getting a glock 17 and I have heard that you can have a G22 and drop in a 9mm barrel and shoot 9mm, but I came across these.http://glockstore.com/pgroup_descrip...3B%2BFrames%2F. Does this mean that if I buy their G22 slide I can use it on my G17 and I'll be able to shoot .40 and/or .357 sig? Or am I reading this wrong/is there more involved than what it says? Has anyone here done this?

You can go from .40 to 9mm, but not the other way. So your 17 is a 17.

Why not? He is asking about new slide not conversion barrel.
Third generation glock frames should be the same between 17 and 22, with 3 pins. 9mm used to be 2 pin frames. So, to convert to .40 in addition to .40 slide and barrel, you will need to replace 9mm ejector to .40, because 9mm bent a bit and might strike primer. It is easy to do, if you have hands.Comment

I have a Glock 19 (9mm) and I bought someone's G23 (40 S&W) Slide assembly (innards and barrel included). I replaced my ejector in the G19 to .40 S&W, swapped the slide assemblies, changed magazines to .40 and test fired it. Worked perfectly.
I then swapped back to the G19 slide assembly and left the .40 ejector, still worked and functioned pectfectly.
I don't see how yours wouldn't, if you do the right combo.Comment

Whoops, then I have been misinformed. Sorry for passing along misinformation.
I had been told that you could swap out barrel and slide to go down in caliber but not up on the same sized frame.
