    S&W Bodyguard 38 X-Mas present

Just picked one of my wife's Christmas presents. She's been wanting a hammerless .38 to replace her old Airweight 637. We'll see if she likes it.

Interesting. That "knob" just behind the rear sight is the ambidextrous cylinder release? Pulling it to the rear lets the cylinder swing out?

Never seen anything like this before. Pretty clever.

Nice. Just point and shoot, nothing to it, and its a SW. I have several of these placed at different rooms around the house (not primary), I bought all them via Bass Pro using gift cards when they're on sale.

          OP

          Congrats.

I've been thinking about one of these. Please give us an range update soon.

I'm interested in the amount of recoil with + P rounds.

          Thanks.

I have both the LCR (with laser sight) and a S&W Airweight (442) both about the same weight as the Bodyguard. +P can be a little snappy but very nicely controllable. These are compact, light, very capable self defense revolvers. Also, quite accurate (with appropriate practice) and a heck of a lot of fun to shoot.

All three are designed with rugged, corrosion proof materials for the day-to-day carry environment. No need to wipe it down every day with an oily rag to keep from rusting and no blueing to rub off with constant pocket/holster carry.

Not really a revolver fan here. But that looks nice. Easy to use and will likely never jam. Looks like a good buy.

Great little gun. I had one for ahwile. Only wierd thing was that it rotates opposite of all my other smith and wessons. It threw me off when loading half cylinders for practice.
