How do YOU feel about chamber indicators?

IMO, loaded chamber indicators and mag disconnect safeties just dumb down many gun owners.
They can both fail to indicate a loaded chamber or fail to prevent the gun from being fired with the mag out.
So if you rely on these crutches instead of Rule #1, you could learn the hard (and tragic) way someday.
Nothing replaces rule #1. All guns are always loaded (until confirmed otherwise)"If you have them by the balls, their hearts and minds will follow"Comment

The California ones are silly. I have a couple old style ones that aren't obtrusive and are part of the original design. They don't bother me and I never pay any attention or rely on them.My mother always told me to be careful what you ask for.
Just one more piece of parental advice I stupidly ignored.

I feel they are dangerous because, they breed complacency by allowing people to believe a firearm is loaded or unloaded without actually visually and physically checking the chamber.NRA Certified Pistol, Rifle, Shotgun and Metallic Cartridge Reloading Instructor

The kind that are built into the extractor, or witness holes to the chamber, are fine by me.
The kind that are mandated by CA and come with extra crap that have nothing to do with making the gun run, and that can and *have* caused guns to become inop when they break - those are a hard pass for me."A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed."
