HK USP Expert 45 worth it?

My Glock 21 is one of my favorite handguns and a real soft shooter, but it is starting to feel lonely as my only 45. I was thinking of just getting another 21 and using one for target and the other for HD. Then I figured it can do both anyway, but maybe something different for 45 target duties and backup HD in 45.

The HK USP Expert in 45 looks really interesting, shot a HK 45 the other day and it felt pretty good. However the Expert seems to be pretty had to find and a bit pricey. Reviews I find online tend to be very complementary, but not always the best source of down to earth honest truth. What do current and previous owners of the USP Expert think?

FYI - I may get a 1911 someday, but not on my priority list. I may get a really nice one in the future, but those get very $$$$$$$ quickly.

I'd say that's up to you. Not sure why anyone else's opinion would affect your choice.

Great looking gun, great shooting gun. Between the G41 and H&K Expert, it is hard to choose a favorite for me. The G41 has more capacity and a better weapon light, so my G41 is the winner IMHO... but barely. They used to make them in batches. When they release one, they are easy to find for months, but who knows these days.

For 800-900... the Expert is worth it.

Yes, the HK USP45 EXPERT is worth it , instead of buying another G21 , get the HK for target use and use the G21 for HD

Not at the current prices, I’d go the 1911 route.

Just my opinion, I don't like adjustable sights on pistols, so I bought the USP and will add the match trigger later. Either way I think you would enjoy it. I haven't shot it much but I enjoy mine the couple hundred rounds I've shot through it.

USPs are great shooters in any caliber. You can't go wrong with any variant or flavor of them. Those handguns are tanks.

Thx guys, guess the search will start - maybe get one for this Christmas (may get lucky) or next year or the year after that - the way things are these days. Not in a rush, but patience is hard.

Want something reasonably sized? Get the regular USP. Want something with a long sight radius? Get the USP Elite. The only purpose for the Expert is for something as big as possible that still fits the IPSC size limitations. If you don't do practical shooting, I see little point in the Expert between the two other models.

I owned an HK USP 45 Expert and it was extremely accurate and fun too shoot. I ran it through a number of training days including shoot houses, vehicle assaults, two man teams, CQB, etc.

When moving with the HK off target, you have to decock the pistol and I felt my speed with a Glock or something similar was faster and didn't have to constantly think about decocking and then firing a double-action pistol when coming back on target.

Most people choose the Expert over the Elite for no good reason then

It is a great looking gun and a perfect slide and barrel length.

If you want to conceal something, get a G30S or G36.

I love my Expert, I can't seem to miss with it. i feel so comfortable with it, it has become my HD weapon of choice, if I ever have to use it, i will be sorry to see something expensive get taken away but its too good to not depend on it.

Yes, it is worth it. Finely crafted piece of German engineering. Softest shooting .45 I ever owned.

Now you guys definitely convinced me. These things are hard to find and require a lot of patience.
