RDS Zero is Iron Sight Cowitness?!?!

    Hey all,

Thought I'd throw this out there because I've never had it happen before.

I recently swapped the RDS on my glock 17 for a 508T-x2. I went to zero it today and ended up with my actual dot zero being co witnessed to the iron sights.

I have a few pistols with RDS' and have never had this happen; am I being overly paranoid or did I botch the zero somehow?

I only ask as the general opinion and thought process is that the dot is a separate sighting system from the irons, and well to be honest it is the first time I have had the sights line up like that.

    Any input is appreciated,
    Thanks all!

I have pistols that match my iron sights zero and some don't...

Depends on the distance that you did zero is one reason - my iron sights are zeroed for 25 and I zeroed the RDS for 25. Obviously they co-witness.

My other pistols' iron sights are zeroed for 10, 15; but I zero the red dot for 25. Obviously different.

First time out - co-witnessing the dot to irons is the first step. Then you adjust the dot to your preferred zero distance which may be different from the iron sights' zero.
