Zev Citadel slide/channel liner out of spec? Glock 17

I bought a Zev Z17 Citadel stripped slide and the Zev upper parts kit for my Gen3 Glock 17. The channel liner is installed at Zev, but did I get a defective one? I can't get the firing pin spacer sleeve to go in enough to put the rear plate back on. I also tried the OEM spacer sleeve and the same thing. Has anyone seen this before? I emailed Zev, just waiting to hear back from them.

Thats not a channel liner, and you have that part in backwards. It is supposed to be on the firing pin assembly, held on the firing pin with the spring cups. If it wont go when properly installed on the firing pin, then either the sleeve, that is pressed in the slide is either not pressed in far enough, or the hole was machined to shallow.

What he ^^^ said. That is the striker sleeve. The channel liner should already be in the striker channel. Take a flashlight and shine it down there to check.

Yea the pics are of the striker sleeve. I just took a pic of that to show how much it protrudes.

When inserted the correct direction, it should stick out a little bit, that is how it engages the backplate. Maybe try to put together the complete striker assembly and then assemble the slide to see if it all fits? I have the exact slide you're asking about and mine is fine.

Do you have a set of calipers? My striker sleeves are measuring about 0.860", yet the depth on the slide to the sleeve is about 0.880" I'm guessing your sleeve is not pushed in all the way, the slide was machined too shallow, or the sleeve is too long (if aftermarket, I doubt a glock factory one would be short.)

You do have to push the striker down when putting the backplate on, it's not flush

Ok guys I fixed it. The channel liner was not properly installed at the Zev factory. I compared the Zev slide and my OEM. The liner definitely was sitting a little lower in my OEM slide. I just grabbed a 1/4" punch and gave it a little push and felt it bottom out. then what do you know...striker assembly went right in.
