Ruger SA Revolver Issue and Ruger Customer Service

I was feeling down on Ruger after my badass Super Blackhawk malfunctioned during its first use. Ruger fixed it very quickly at no expense and shipped it back to me with a detailed explanation of the problem and how it was fixed.

    I'm impressed.

    That is all.

I found Ruger customer service to be the absolute best. Years ago I had issues with my LCP not feeding properly. I spoke to Chris in customer service. I shipped the pistol to Ruger and received it back, with a new magazine, in 2 weeks. I have never had another issue with this pistol since.

Ruger are jerks about anything but 100% factory Minis, but great about everything else. They do suck at parts unless things have changed.

I’ve had mostly 100% satisfaction with Ruger, except once, and it was something beyond their abilities, so not knocking them one bit.
That simple issue was that they refused to either replace, or shorten the 9.5” barrel on a Super Redhawk in .44 Magnum, to something more practical for my needs. Fair enough, I can see them not wanting to change the specs on a serialized firearm. The solution was to send it to Bowen Classic Arms, wherein Hamilton Bowen set it up exactly the way I wanted, and with a few extra enhancements. It is now my favorite .44 Magnum revolver, and in the end, I’m glad that Ruger didn’t want the job. I don’t think they can perform that level of craftsmanship.

My Ruger New Vaquero broke on me - very awkward, jammed the hammer and the cylinder - could not unload to make safe - had to pull the thing apart to empty it. There was a small pin in the hammer that broke and slipped into the mechanism.

Ruger asked me to ship the gun for repair - I explained I live in CA and that would be a total PITA, so they sent me the parts to fix it myself.

Warning it takes 3 hands to put one of those mothers back together!

                    Yeah...

Had a Super Single-Six come out w/ a timing issue.

Sent it back to the mother ship, and they replaced the faulty part, buffer the hammer, and gave it a trigger-job, ta boot.

                    Gratis.

I sent an Old Army back to Ruger long after it was out of production. They fit a new cylinder and nipples to the cylinder no charge.

I had an issue with my New Model Single Six. It locked up tight. Fortunately, it was not loaded.

I called Ruger and explained the issue. The kind lady said, UPS will pick up your gun at 10 am on Monday. Sure enough, UPS showed up and took it away--no cost to me.

Exactly 10 days later the gun was in my hand, delivered to my door--again, no cost to me.

The enclosed document said they replaced the hammer, test fired and cleaned the gun. No charge.

I did not expect such great service@
