    Hi-Power pistol.....what would you change/optimize?

I really like the Hi-Power and it seems as though a few companies are bringing in new choices.

I love to think about these things.......If you had your druthers, what modifications, changes, optimizations would you make?

I definitely think the trigger needs some help, even with a new sear i think the overall design is challenging as it must translate the forces/vectors from the frame all the way up and into the slide

and of course the hammer bite...beavertail issue.

    what else would you consider/desire?

With the exception of removing the magazine safety, I wouldn't change anything on mine.
My mother always told me to be careful what you ask for.

Just one more piece of parental advice I stupidly ignored.

I would cerakote it red, add an rmr, put the recover tactical railed grips on it, add a tlr-1 weapon light, and then I would get a threaded barrel and add a muzzle brake. I would also add an extended clip.

Removing the magazine safety lightens up the trigger.
Installing a slightly larger thumb safety was more accessible and comfortable for me.

Just a simple dehorn, add textured grip panels and some decent sights. Oh and removing the magazine safety shoulda happened 85 years ago.

pierce grip mag base, for the finger rest. Tritium night sights.

                  Outside of that nothing.

                    THIS ^^^^

It's what I did to mine. Made a noticeable difference.

I know exactly what needs to be changed based upon running BHP's in courses and carrying them:

                      1) Dehorn the gun, especially the slide. Bottom edge, all points on the serrations, and the cut out where the safety meets the slide.
                      2) Bevel the magazine well
                      3) Remove the trigger disconnect
                      4) Tune the trigger
                      5) Improve the sights; I like Trijicon HD's with orange front
                      6) Checker the front and rear strap
                      7) Undercut the trigger guard slightly

Seeing some of the responses here I'm wondering if I should put a blower, hood scoop, rear wheel tubs and a nitrous kit on my 4-door 1972 Chevy Nova.

Maybe add the deployable spike bayonet, and grenade launcher attachment? Don't forget the laser beam!
There are some people that it's just not worth engaging.

It's a muzzle BRAKE, not a muzzle break. Or is your muzzle tired?

Add the Cylinder and Slide Commander no-bite hammer. Makes a WORLD of difference compared to the stock hammer as far as not biting the web of my thumb!!

                              Well...

                              - I'd like to see the safety moved forward a bit
                              - there should be a version that replaces the safety with a decocker
                              - there should be more protection for the web of the hand from the hammer
                              - a DA option would be great
                              - reversing the frame rails would be an upgrade.

I've done a mockup in photoshop:
