Colt SAA no more 357?
1. Compared to what?
2. At what cost?
3. What hard evidence do you have?

The custom shop still has it. You can still find them. -
The SAA should ONLY come in .45 Colt or .44-40 Winchester.
I have both!

If you're looking for a 357 version there are a fair number of 2nd Generations out there. GB has them starting at $1,900.00 (supposedly) ANIB. I've had the Custom Shop and while a very well made and finished gun the 2nd Gen finish is more durable IMO. Not as well polished, but deeper and will rub gradually rather than quickly.
I picked up a 357 SAA ANIB 2nd Gen in Reno last year for $1,800.00. Not a great price but I figured waiting wasn't going to make the price drop.
The 357 is markedly heavier than the 44/45 caliber versions.GOA Member & SAF Life MemberComment

Ain't that the truth. I'm sure these Colts are well-made collector's pieces for the people who just HAVE to spend as much money as possible to get the most authentic piece possible. For the rest of us, the Ruger is just a better handgun.Comment
