    Colt SAA no more 357?

    1. Compared to what?
    2. At what cost?
    3. What hard evidence do you have?

The custom shop still has it. You can still find them.

The SAA should ONLY come in .45 Colt or .44-40 Winchester.

      I have both!

I disagree---the proper round for a SAA is 44 Special!!

ruger single action revolvers are simply better handguns for actual use.

Maybe, but the real problem is at the end of the day they still look/ feel like Rugers.

And 44 rimfire! That one should be brought back.

Okay, but only if you can make a semiauto rifle with evil features for it

I've had the Custom Shop and while a very well made and finished gun the 2nd Gen finish is more durable IMO. Not as well polished, but deeper and will rub gradually rather than quickly.

I picked up a 357 SAA ANIB 2nd Gen in Reno last year for $1,800.00. Not a great price but I figured waiting wasn't going to make the price drop.

The 357 is markedly heavier than the 44/45 caliber versions.

                          That is so true.

I had both and no one ever asked me, "is that a first generation Ruger?" or "did Wyatt Earp have a Ruger Blackhawk?"

Ain't that the truth. I'm sure these Colts are well-made collector's pieces for the people who just HAVE to spend as much money as possible to get the most authentic piece possible. For the rest of us, the Ruger is just a better handgun.

If I had that kind of cash, it would already be done.
