Moving to CA from AZ

Hello,

If I moved to AZ for a year and purchased a number of off roster handguns during that year then decided to move back to CA after the year. Would I be able to bring my off roster guns with me as long as I have no >10 round mags and no SBR. Just pistols. I would think they would have a law to stop you from bringing them back but Im not sure what law or regulation.

If you maintained ties to CA, paid taxes or vehicle registration, kept property, professional licenses, or any number of things that would cause CA to have considered you a resident during your getaway, it is a felony to bring back handguns you acquired.

(a) Commencing January 1, 2015, a resident of this state shall not import into this state, bring into this state, or transport into this state, any firearm that the person purchased or otherwise obtained on or after January 1, 2015, from outside of this state unless the person first has that firearm delivered to a dealer in this state for delivery to that resident pursuant to the procedures set forth in Section 27540 and Article 1 (commencing with Section 26700) and Article 2 (commencing with Section 26800) of Chapter 2.

Thank you very much for the clarification. That makes sense in regards to the laws.

I hate the CA roster and the guns are a joke on it.

So all I have to do is completely leave CA and never come back. lol.

I know i had the same dilemma when I moved back from NV to the bay area. I made sure when I moved I cut out as much as I could when I moved to ensure I was no longer considered a resident and waited as long as I could to switch everything back to CA. I thank the lord every day I got the opportunity to move back out for good.

I agree, i would love to leave california, but it would be hard to start all over somewhere else.

Don’t ask about moving just move register to vote get lic reg vehicles you might not like the heat and decide to move back to ca.

Heat? What is this heat that you speak of? It's 57 degrees outside now, with a predicted high of 61. I'll move back to California when hell freezes over.
