Why does no one make revolver friendly lights?

Why does no one make revolver friendly lights?
Seems like such a massive gap in the market.
It can snap around the trigger guard to mount (already a proven concept) and be turned on/off using the middle finger (another proven concept). Is there something I'm missing here?

My guess is that the sizes of revolvers are not to any standard and you would need to make way too many mounts, probably not cost effective. There are a few revolvers with pic rails on the bottom, so you could do that if you wanted to.

Not serious answer - people who use revolvers are old, lights on guns are new, old people don't like new things

There are a few S&W revolvers with integral rails, for those very few people who want a light on their revolver.

Not sure about your mounting plan, but you always haveto be concerned about the possibility of:

For some reason the video will not load. Here is the youtube link. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t6vMkk8VYzc

Also, I'm not sure if you could mount a light on the front of the trigger guard and still be able to open the cylinder.

That said, my TRR8 has rails on the barrel and top strap that would allow one to mount a weapon light and a RDS respectively. However, you would not be able to operate the light in the same manner as you would on a pistol. You would either have an on / off situation or have to have a pressure switch from the light to the grip.

In the same light, that must explain while the trend is that younger guys go after older women and older men grab up the younger women?

Revolvers have a sentimental value and are quite versatile for home defense, outdoors or a ranch, but they are not the combat weapons of years past. That's where the technology goes.

Also, the cylinder gap limits anything around the trigger guard. A light that is mounted in that area would require an activation button also in that area, which would put the fingers too close to the danger zone.

Besides, there is an ongoing debate about weapon-mounted lights vs. hand-held. Revolvers would fit into the "hand-held lights" category anyways.

When one takes a class... they cover reloading.

                      something like-
gun is held and rotated barrel to sky

                      Left hand on frame
                      right had trips cylinder catch

middle two fingers of left hand push cylinder open

right had smacks the Ejector Rod driving and spent brass towards the ground

                      -

Would the light interfere with the unloading part of the reloading process with junk on the sides of the trigger guard?

Lights on handguns is a VERY small part of firearms...
                      The lights limit a holster...

If you cannot see the threat, you should not point your gun at an unknown... Rule #2

So many use a separate light... if it is a low light place- parking garage or street lights out and someone presents themselves as a threat- well you can shoot as needed... no light required

Some of us home defense folks have a holster with a paddle for our SD guns.

when we hear a bump, we do use a holster..

I'm not sure the market is large enough to justify a light for revolvers...
Rule 1- ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED

Rule 2 -NEVER LET THE MUZZLE COVER ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO DESTROY (including your hands and legs)

Rule 3 -KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET

Rule 4 -BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT IS BEYOND IT
                      (thanks to Jeff Cooper)

I'm old - got some revolvers - got some lights/lasers too (on autos) because my eyes are also old.

Old folks like me aren't dumb enough to buy new stuff until they work out the flaws/malfunctions.

Ever try selling generation I, after they come out w/gen II, and then III.

I don't fund R&D for the benefit of somebody else.

A new product comes out that is refined, and doesn't malfunction, now that's what "old folks" jump on along w/youngsters who were taught by old folks.

Years ago there was a muzzle brake I didn't buy for my shotguns; fast forward to now, they come out w/gen II, bragging how it "doesn't blow hot gas back into your face".

I bet that makes the buyers of the original muzzle brake "FEEL GOOD" unless they do right and stake the original buyers who kept them in business to a big money discount on a gen II.

                            New doesn't always equate w/BETTER

                            .

Because John Wick does not use revolvers.
