I'm in the process of disabling one I just want to shoot it as a normal. 22. Has anyone messed with one of these. I know its the most hated gun in the US and I love having it. I want to ad a repeater to have the LED flash. Anyone have any ideas?

There are several videos online that investigated and showed how the electronic security could easily be defeated.

I think they’re pretty rare, maybe a collectors item in the future. I think I would leave it alone for that reason.

        How/where did you acquire it?

It seems if you wanted to make the gun work permanently, remove (grind) the locking lugs from the firing pin. But as noted, this gun may be valuable down the line as a curio - sort of like the Gyrojet pistol. So it would make more sense if you could get hands on a spare firing pin. Maybe have one made without the lugs if you cannot get a factory spare.

Like others have said, shelve it for a few decades. It'll prob be more rare and worth money to folks who collect failed designs.

Like the guns that perform microstamping on the primer and cartridge case

Ian will need it to review in 20 years.

I'm going to take it apart. Remove the plunger in the slide. It should be reversed by reinstalling parts. Guy in marin has 500 of these. He is a type 7 ffl so he can't (he won't) dros to the public. I saw a thread on here were someone said it could be drosed. I think its a no go. If a local dealer is willing to put one through its in the drop down for manufacturer. Just no model

If he won’t DROS to the public, what does he plan on doing with them? Why would LEO or military want it?

I suppose destroying most of them would be in his best interest, to increase the value of the 1 he keeps. Depending on what his acquisition cost was…

A few more will come to Texas. I'm sure.

Oaktree should acquire one for their rental gun case.
