It's a very soft shooting 9mm. LTT has a lot of parts/upgrades for the platform, such as (but not just limited to) a trigger job in a bag. One of the first with a adjustable/customizable grip/frame. It doesn't get enough credit for what it is. It does have a bit of high bore axis.. but because it has a soft recoil, it doesn't really matter.

I believe LTT has a slide that you can mount a red-dot on. That coupled with a soft shooting gun, would make it a great gun for a beginner.

Let Go of the Status Quo!

Don't worry, it will never pass...How in the hell did that pass?

Think past your gun, it's the last resort, the first is your brain.

Defense is a losing proposition when time is on the side of the opponent. In the history of humanity, no defense has ever won against an enemy with time on their side.

PX-4 is in my desk drawer right now, so obviously I like it and I trust it. Beretta is highly reputable company and the gun will perform really well. Mechanically. So, the question is about the controls and overall design.

The rotary barrel makes it quite accurate and soft shooting, but it's a full-size gun so it's already quite mild. It's a DA/SA gun with the traditional double-strike capability. Trigger is decent service-grade, some grit, some stacking, nothing out of ordinary, quite functional. Sights are not to my liking with three dots, so I have a pair of Trijicons on. Sights are the easiest part to fix.

Where I have problem with Berettas and similar designs, e.g., some metal S&Ws, is the safety. I absolutely hate the "slide-mounted push forward safety." It's unnatural position, unnatural movement to disengage and it's usually stiff. So, some people keep it always off and only use it as a decocker only. That's where the danger is. If you train with a gun and do NOT make disengaging the safety part of your standard manipulation, you're bound to find yourself with a dead trigger gun when you least can afford to have it nonfunctional. So, saying "I'll keep the safety off" on a HD or a carry gun is a big no-no.

My PX-4 has low profile levers and is converted to "G" model, where the lever cannot remain in the down/off position. Now, it's a dream gun. Somewhat slippery if you're sweaty (easy to fix with grip tape), no protruding "wings" of the safety, great aftermarket sights, service-grade trigger, DA/SA manual of arms, soft shooting, accurate, high-quality.

Besides "F" vs. "G" issue (decocker/safety vs. decocker only), you have the usual debate between DA/SA hammer-fired guns and striker fired DAO/SAO guns (not getting into DAO vs. SAO debate). For new shooters, striker-fired guns should be the norm, as much as I hate to say it. DA/SA is not for everyone and, much like safety, if you don't train with the initial DA pull, you're not doing it right. Great for range fun (keep safety off, fire only SA), but very dangerous to train incorrectly for self defense.

I'm pretty sure he has not fired the storm yet... I hit the decocker and was playing with getting it back to fire.

He was not aware of the decocker nor the fact that it stayed on click / dead trigger mode and that he would need to return it to firing position.

We will hit the range in a few weeks... good to her about keeping it lubed and magazines clean

Pretty easy to convert to a g decocker without buying anything:

underrated overlooked gun. I had a good chat at turner with this retired sheriff and it is his favorite go to gun.

I have one in my nightstand. I changed the safety to "g" with low profile levers from Langdon Tactical and a large mag button from Beretta and it now a perfect handgun for me. Three dot sights, interchangeable backstraps, hammer fired and I easily can out shoot my Glocks. I take it with me every time I go out to the range.

Super under rated handgun. Langdon can do wonders to it:

my Px4 is superb - not only is it my HD firearm but i've been known to CCW with it too

i've made a few alterations to it though - installed a steel trigger, removed the batwing safety levers and installed some low profile levers, decocker only and a low profile slide stop - a buddy of mine made me an all steel recoil rod, the cap on the factory plastic rod fell apart on me, then Beretta sent me a steel replacement rod too

i've had my Px4 for about 8 years and it's been flawless - first thing i did when i moved to NV was buy some 15 round magazines for it - that's probably the only con i have about the Px4, the regular Beretta magazines are not compatible with the Px4

The PX4 Storm was one of my first 9mm guns. Great gun. I have fairly small hands and I enjoyed shooting it. Recoil was great.
