    Diversification Dream

I like to be diversified. I'd like to have at least two gun manufactures in each of my calibers. I've also always wanted a really nice 1911 style pistol. I only have one 10mm. It's a glock 20sf. If I ever ran across an Elite Series Titan, I'd do what ever it took to get it. I've also always liked the DW Kodiak, but that 6" barrel seems a little long for my tastes. The DW Specialist is probably more of a fit for me. Recently, I've been looking at the EAA Witness Elite Limited. While it's not in the 1911 style I seek, it looks like a nice offering. But I have no knowledge about Eaa's or comp style pistols. I'd likely never shoot in comps. Especially with such an expensive round. That said, it definitely has my eye.

So I thought I'd look for some first hand knowledge about two choices.
    First, the Dan Wesson Specialist
    Second, EAA Witness Elite Limited
    Naturally, both in 10mm

I doubt many have shot both. If you've had a chance with either one, I'd like to here your impressions of them.
If you could only have one, which one and why?

Thanks for indulging my lust for the ten and my dream for less restrictions.

I have one DW, CBOB, in .45 and love the quality of the pistol. I wouldn’t hesitate to get the Specialist in 10mm if you can find one. The roster is a depressing thing.

There is much more support for 1911/2011 guns than for EAA/Tangfolio, so it's a natural choice if you just want to have one. Other than that, it's a CZ 75 vs. 1911 question - which one do you like better?

Honestly, I've no experience with the CZ 75 platform. The only 1911 I have is pops old mysterious "IP" .45. I grew up shooting this pistol and love it. It's the one I'd never let go of. That's the reason I'd like an upscale 1911. But I'm not above trying something new.

While I haven't shot them in 10mm, I have a EAA Witness in 9mm. I prefer the ergonomic feel of the EAA platform way more than the 1911.

That extra 1” will provide a bit more velocity, the added weight on the slide and barrel tames real 10mm loads a bit. Better sight radius also. The only time the extra 1” of length bothers me is when drawing from a full retention holster.

This thread has me reminiscing. It dawned on me that I'd never dusted off my camera and taken any pictures of the old "IP". So, I figured I'd add one just because. Props to Skyhawk for convincing me to take off the Pachmayr grip I added so many years ago. He also gave me the set of wooden grips when he found out the originals were long gone. Having her in my hand again has me itchin to run a box through her. It also helped me to realize why I want another 1911 style pistol. Gawd this roster sucks...
