New Python $1700

My interest in this new name-drop-robbing of the Python stops at $1,295 max. Anything above the MSRP is ridiculous, and I would rather out that $1,700 toward a pre-1978 blued or nickle version if it reaches that high of a price.

These simply are NOT the Pythons of yore, and no, having experience with each, this new one is not better. At $1,700, there are plenty better revolvers from S&W, now Kimber's K6s, even Ruger.

By the time you are in LNIB old Python territory you're in MR73 territory, and those are much better guns.

Maybe when they come down around $1200 I would get one.

I get one if they get down to $1000, local, no FFL fee. If $1700 then I save some coin and get the Les Baer 1911.
It is a funny thing while Python fan boy said 7# trigger is a nice trigger while 1911 fan boy and Glock fan boy talking about 3.5# trigger and CZ fan boy talkin about CGW trigger. Oh sh.t, i am in trouble now.
(BTW, I had couple SAA revolvers and all of them trigger is around 3.5#).

Meh... already have both. A few more wouldn't kill me, but I would be going for another classic Korth instead ( no interest in the 'new' Korths either).

But I would more likely spend it on another Registered Magnum or Triple-Lock.

If I understand correctly, there's a big difference between the newer and the older Pythons. Definitely no expert here.

Pythons are nice, but given how well my S&W M65 (with sweet trigger job) shoots, I don't see the need to pay that sort of coin for a Python. That M65, with trigger job, cost me a whole lot less than the Python's MSRP.

Would love to get a Python, but only blued. I know this is a dream scenario, but maybe someday they'll produce it.

Own a Colt Python and Trooper III both circa 1980, blued and finish is phenomenal…

Pretty reasonable price wise for what it is honestly. That's a lot of skilled man hours in that revolver. If you find a US source let me know.
