    vzgrips.com
    thefinergrain.com
    (this is what I use)

Check out the 1911 forums or m1911 forums. They have numerous sponsors that sell grips.

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned this one. http://ahrendsgripsusa.com/ his grips can be made to order you just have to call them and let them know what you want. His grips rival my speigel grips that i paid over a hundred for. Herrett's arent bad either and the only ones that i have found that still do skip checkering in the old style.

                    Take a look at http://woodgrips.com/

I've bought 5 or 6 pairs from them. Not as expensive as some others.

They even have some Punisher grips that I've seen a few people asking about here and there.

I appreciate everyone's replies and your insight. I have taken the opportunity to check or contact the vendors that were recommended. What I am having difficulty with is finding someone that will etch/inlay a custom design into the grip. Any suggestions? I have not yet contacted WickedGrips as they estimate a year before they can deliver any custom orders.

                            Gungrips.net

Custom laser etched alumagrips with their own image, or give them something you want and they work with you on it. I paid right around 100$ plus shipping for the ones you see in the picture. I sent them a picture, he sent me back a couple of possibilities they could do, and not 5 days after choosing my grip design I had them in my hands.

Easy to work with, reasonable prices. I'll more likely than not be doing business with them again soon. Very pleased overall, good work. They also offer custom etched polymer grips or wood as well if you desire.
